When it comes to life transitions, one glaring trend stands out: the baby-boomer generation is turning 65 years old, at a dramatic rate of 10,000 retiring seniors a day. A significant portion of them are business owner-operators who have all but postponed any sort of exit planning. Without any willing or groomed heirs to replace them, lack of organizational leadership, established systems and processes – many are liquidating well-established and profitable businesses and foregoing a wealth of untapped capital.
